Lee Roy Selmon's life story blends the benefits of football scholarships and volunteerism in the community. First family he is the youngest of the nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon. They grew up on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Two soccer. He is one of the three brothers that participated in the football team of Oklahoma. All three brothers were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey was an All-Star for the whole 1973 season. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was the best lineman in the entire nation. For three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy serving as their starting line-up. Also, they won 2 national titles. In 1975, Selmon was awarded his third scholarship and was named an National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon received a bachelor's degree from the university of California at Berkeley. Lee Roy was involved in volunteering for ten hours per week while he attended college. Then he settled in Tampa following college. He played with the Buccaneers for nine years and was three-times all-pro. The business venture he started began. In 1988, as an account liaison officer for First Florida Bank of Tampa and worked for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder in 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's 10 outstanding young men. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in height and weighed 256 pounds when he was a student athlete. He was captain of the team in 1975. In 1993, he became the associate director of the University of South Florida. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 gave its Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor that presented the award.
